The Estuarium is a future research and education centre on Pier 26 in New York. Its mission is to tell the stories of the Hudson River Estuary while highlighting the regional ecology. It was developed in partnership between Clarkson University and Hudson River Park Trust.

I was the creative producer for this project. My team at Tellart evolved NYSci’s initial interpretive plan, and developed the overall exhibition concept. We conducted several stakeholder and subject-matter expert interviews, and secondary research. We mapped out the key stories to create a content architecture and focus the design concept for the interactive experiences.

10 highly immersive exhibits reveal the vital interdependencies within this complex system: from its invisible dynamics, to the stories of the wildlife that thrives in this nursery of the sea, the role humans have played in its history, and how we can better care for its future.
